- What is TranslateIT?
TranslateIT is a website combining the best technology with market-leading translation service providers. We have chosen these providers based on their skills and experience across a range of languages and subjects. So, you get the highest quality professional translations available 24 X 7! TranslateIT is not a machine translation service!
- What type of translation do you offer?
Only human translators can consistently produce perfect translations. If you need a perfect translation, only a human being can assure you of getting one. On the other hand, human translators cannot do instant translations. We do not provide machine translation.
- How secure is your website?
TranslateIT.net operates in a fully secure environment for placing translation orders. Throughout the site you will see the Thawte logo. This is an accredited external party who has certified that TranslateIT has the relevant software to ensure a 100% secure shopping experience.
- Which account type should I choose - Corporate or Personal?
Corporate account should be used for any company/corporation. This type of account offers the flexibility to add multiple authorized users, language combinations, special pricing and payment methods. Corporate Accounts are subject to TranslateIT management’s approval. Corporate accounts allow also for credit card payment and/or have the option to use a monthly billing.
Personal account should be used by any individual with more infrequent translation needs. Personal accounts have just one user per account with access to all language combinations. All payments must be made by credit card.
- Which languages do you offer?
TranslateIT currently offers translation services for more than 240 language combinations. When you request a quote, selecting the Source Language will immediately update the Target Language list with every language combination available. If you need a specific language combination that is not listed, please send a message to our Customer Service
- Which file types can be processed through TranslateIT.net?
TranslateIT.net accepts virtually any file type for translation. An automatic quote is possible for the following file types: - PDF documents
- Word (DOC) any version
- Rich Text Format (RTF)
- HTML
- TEXT based (unicode or ascii)
If you have a different file type (FrameMaker/.asp/Quark etc), or your document contains graphics, screenshots or other elements that require more than just straight translation, you will get a quote notification via email.
- I have several files to be translated together, what do I do?
If you have several documents to be translated, just store them all together inside a ZIP compressed archive, and upload it as usual. Every single file will be extracted and processed on our side. If you have a slow (modem) connection, we suggest using this method even for single file transfers, since transfer time can improve greatly, according to the compression rate.
- How can I send additional reference files not to be translated?
Just store all the source and reference files together inside a ZIP compressed archive, and upload it as usual. Every single file will be extracted and in the following step you'll be able to select which files are for translation and which are not.
- How do you charge and what are your rates?
TranslateIT charges on a per source word basis for every language ordered. Our rates vary depending on service level and language selection. Currently you are billed in US Dollars. To obtain an accurate quote enter your email address, choose your Source and Target Languages, select the Subject Area and select your file(s). After pressing the 'Get a Quote' button you will get an instant quote detailed by word rate, total for your file(s), service level and language. From here you can proceed to place your order if you wish.
Please note that there are minimum charges for each service level: Standard and Urgent

- When can I expect my translation?
For Standard translations we guarantee a turnaround of 2 business days on orders of up to 1200 words plus 1 business day for each additional 1200 words. Need it faster? Priority translations can turn around 1800 words per each business day. For example a 3600 word translation would take 4 days with Standard and 2 days with Priority.
- Why can't I view the translation correctly?
The Scenario:You used TranslateIT to have a document translated from English into Chinese. Your computer is even able to open it. Your computer is not, however, able to display the characters. Don't worry. When this document is opened on a computer that supports the language in question, the document will display correctly. The Solution:If you are using a Windows operating system, you can download support for double-byte character sets from Microsoft. Using Internet Explorer 4.0 or above, click here. - Choose the appropriate language, with the language pack and install it. The procedure will cause the system to reboot.
- Tick the box for your language support needs.
- Click "Download Software" and follow the prompts through the installation.
- Now when you open your Word document, you will be able to see the appropriate character set.
